Despite overcast skies over 250 people made the trip to NFMX for the opening round of the Powersports mini series. track conditions were immpecable, Alexas Andreu landclearing doin a fine job on the clay based track.
Pro riders Zack Lundy and Shawn Gann and local expert Kyle Cronin were impressive in the open money class with Lundy taking the 1st moto and Gann , capitalizing on a Lundy mistake took the overall.
Some of the best racing of the day was in the 14-24 year old class with Tanner Hughes taking the holeshot with Loretto Lynns top 5 rider Cole Mclean,Loretto Lynns qualifier Branson Blake, 2-stroke rider Kirk Eminger in close pursuit...they frieght-trained for most of the 6 lap moto and only at the end local up and comer Cole Mclain slipped by for the win.
The biggest class of the day of course the 250C was very competitive with 2 different moto winners Brain Castleberry checking out and taking moto one with Chase Kretch keeping him honest in second, Kirk Eminger in third ahead of Garret Black on his 100cc KX super mini 2 stroke (second place holeshot).
The 2nd moto started with a 2 stroke out front as Kirk Eminger worked his way into the lead with Chase Kretch in tow, first moto winner Catleberry was mired in the pack....Eminger took the moto and the overall win with Kretch in 2nd and rescue swinmmer Ryan Quinn rounding out the top 3.
