Clear skies and cooler temps did'nt keep the competition from heating up at round 1 of the annual Beat the Heat series at North Florida motocross.Over 100 riders showed for kick off and the crew at NFMX had the track groomed and watered to everyones satisfaction and delight!!.We ran 24 motos and 6 practices smoothly and thankfully no one was seriously injured... Results to follow... Next race July 7th.
Kicking off June 23rd at North florida mx, a four round every other week points series Saturday evenings all at NFMX. Streamlined class structure , improved lighting, added pit bike program... oh yeah plenty of water in the pond for irrigation. This years series sponser North Jax Motorsports is giving an Answer products outfit: Jersey & pants to all series classes winners.
Schedule for weekend: Friday night practice 4-9pm / Sat main track closed, only pit bike, pee wee & trails open 9am-2pm. Race sign up 4pm, practice 5pm, races 6pm, sunday regular practice 9-4pm free over night rough camping...call for info (904)504-2310

Rules and Guidlines
must enter and race all 4 dates in same class/classes if you want o/a series awards otherwise you can sign up in other classes
to receive a finish you must go at least 2 laps in one moto(1st or 2nd) if bikes breaks or you are unable to continue wait at finish with bike until last bike crosses then push across for last place.Second moto if unable to run wait at finish in same way.
points are standard "olympic " system 25pts-1st /22-2nd/ 20-3rd/18-4th/16-5th/15-6th/14-7th/13-8th/12-9th/11-10th/10-11th/9-12th/8-13th/7-14th/6-15th/5-16th/4-17th/3-18th/2-19th/1-20th
you can change bikes or numbers from week to week from class to class but you must run the same bike and number in both motos each event. For easier scoring & to keep track of you we prefer the same #
No riders substitutions.
Even If you finish behind someone whose not in the series you still get points for your exact overall finish.
Ideal weather and excellent track conditions greeted everyone for the march 18th series opener at NFMX. Almost 250 riders from six states competed for a top spot in the points chase.
In the premier Expert class, former factory rider Brian Gray had his hands full with vet rider Lee Tatham and Calif transplant Cory Gibbons the 22 yr old Gray road an enspiring ride on his RM-125 against the larger 450 machines. Tatham sliped away with the first moto win,Gibbons second Gray third... In the second moto Gray traded his old 125 for a CR450F and motored away with the win Gibbons took second and the overall win...
No one was hurt in the 46 motos and 10 practices and despite drought conditions the crew kept the track nearly dust free ...second round at Dirt Farm April 1st see you there!! Alan
We are happy to announce the breaking ground of NFMXs' all new pit bike track!!! Being built where the old "mud bog" was it will be an all red clay course with big banks and a over and under tunnel and a simple sx style layout.. right now we are looking at different classes and will prob. go with 10" & 12" wheel sizes and engines 50cc to 140cc a class for the larger wheeled Honda CRF-80 and 100 Yam TTR-125
Did I mention that we will have the track fully lit for night riding and racing?? a lake for irrigation, power, lights et al. when you say? OK Riding by the middle to end of April call for more info 504-2310
